Spiral Pagan PathPaganPath is a free public resource for entertainment and education.  Here you will find thousands of well researched, all original articles, recipes, spells, magic and information for Pagans of all paths.  The site is geared toward those of us who have been on our paths for quite some time, but there is a vast amount of information for newcomers and those doing research into Paganism.

Paganism encompasses a diverse community including Wiccans, Witches, Druids, Shamans, Heathens, Odinists and Sacred Ecologists.  Some people associate with groups that follow specific practices, traditions or elements such as Celtic traditions, witchcraft, Slavic traditions or certain gods.  Here at PaganPath, there is an emphasis on Syncretism, and positive, practical applications of spirituality, actions and thoughts.

PaganPath is a meeting place for the international Pagan community.  Most PaganPath Members are autonomous individual practitioners such as solitary Witches or recluse shamans, but there are several groups and representatives from groups on the site as well.  The site provides a safe place to conduct accurate research, learn new skills, and connect with other Pagans through the forum, private messaging and chats.  - All free of advertising, pop ups and spam.

The Private Academy offers full courses to Premium Members who pay a modest yearly fee (about $49). Courses are currently geared toward Witchcraft, Wicca, Finding Your Pagan Path, Tarot and Herbs.

Healing and Wellness Issue #60 - Now Circle MagazineHistory:

PaganPath began as a single page website entitled "Volute's Witchy Site" in 1995.  It had a funky green background and was hosted on ASIS.com servers.  It slowly became a few pages with a short index by the spring of 1996 and was officially a "site" rather than a "page".  While dabbling with the site, the author began writing for various Pagan publications.

Circle Network News (now Circle Magazine) published the author's article on Witchy Gardening in the 1996 Healing and Wellness issue #60.  By the next year, the article was published on the site along with expanded information on Pagan Gardens.

In the fall of 1997, the domain name PaganPath.com was registered and the site had hundreds of articles.  It has now grown to thousands of articles and has been utilized as a reference in Wikipedia, as required reading for some Harvard University classes, and as required study for many covens and groups.

The Spiral:

The spiral is used frequently as a symbol on PaganPath, and you will notice it at the top of every page and on your browser's toolbar or bookmark icon (favicon).  Originally, this was because spirals and fractals are very representative of Paganism's organic and spiritual nature.  Volute (the original name of the author of PaganPath, new name "Friday") is another name for a spiral, and the spiral dance is a traditional ritual dance reflecting the same "dance" seen in nature.

The pentagram (pentacle) is also used frequently on the site, however many of our Members access PaganPath from public areas and do not wish to display symbols of what could be mistaken by onlookers as "occult" or evil.  In addition, not all Pagans relate to the pentagram and we feel that the spiral is more representative of the site and its Members, and is more inclusive.

The spiral represents the path leading from the mundane to inner wisdom, the path from inner wisdom to physical manifestation, rebirth, movements between worlds, natural cycles, birth-death-rebirth cycles, balance, initiation, spiritual journeys, nature (helix, shells, dna, fractals, etc.) and much more.

In Summary:

Discover the extraordinary. PaganPath.com is filled with thousands of pages of original and insightful writing: Articles, recipes, gardening tips, games, and spells - plus interactive forums and online courses and classes for you to study at your own pace. Come learn about herbs or the tarot, Wicca and Witchcraft or the Sabbats. Maybe you just want to relax, or share your own experiences and knowledge. There's something for everyone from the curious beginner to the well seasoned sage. New and completely original material is added daily, and nothing is ever copied from books or other web sites.

The site is a free public resource for education and entertainment.  There are articles on herbs, gardening, magick, Witchcraft, Paganism, Wicca, spells, recipes, crafts, rituals and so much more.  There are also online courses and classes in Witchcraft and Wicca, Tarot Proficiency and Herbalsim for Premium Members.  All of the writing is original and not copied out of books or from other authors or websites.  It is a great place to exchange ideas and connect with others through the Forum, Private Messages and Chat.

No Advertising, Spam, Pop Ups, Tracking, etc.:

The site is free of advertising because of the $25 yearly dues paid by Premium Members and the proceeds of sales in the PaganPath Shop (which appears sporadically throughout the year).  I hope you will check it out again and see the major growth over the coming weeks and months.

Regular Membership is free and open to all paths.  Your privacy is strictly protected and no information is shared or sold to anyone.

Rebuild Status:

PaganPath is being totally rebuilt on a stable platform that can handle the increased traffic and security needs of the site.  As you can see, the many thousands of Members once on the site are trickling back in.  However, it will be about a few months before I notify everyone that the site is completely back up online.  We don't want alumni Members to come back without all of the materials available.  There are thousands of pages to re-add manually and they are coming along nicely.

As of Spring 2014, most of the older articles have been updated and re-added to the site.  New materials are added daily and the rebuild is nearly complete!

Unless otherwise specifically noted, Friday is the author of all materials on PaganPath.  There are occasionally guest authors on the site such as Susan Weed.  The contributions from guest authors are clearly marked and used specifically with permission.

Friday began studies in magick, herbs and the energies of nature at a very young age.  However, in 1985 studies in the energies of stones, crystals and minerals began.

By 1986 more serious studies into Witchcraft began, and in 1987 Friday was initiated.  Psychic gifts were evident to Friday's family and friends at a very young age and soon after initiation, professional tarot readings were a daily practice.  In 1996 Friday choose the pen name/Pagan name of "Volute" and in 2012 changed to "Friday" in celebration of major life transformations.

The path of diligent study has not ended, and in 2014 Friday passed her final exam and became an official "Master Gardener" and is mentoring low income families to build organic gardens.  Daily study and research continues in all areas of Paganism, divination, herbalism, permaculture, etc.
